Adding Disclosures for Awards and Sweepstakes

If your Program features awards or sweepstakes, U.S. law requires that you include legal Disclosures for the Program. You have templates that are compliant with United States law.

How to Customize DIY Portal's Legal Disclosure Templates for a Program

To customize these templates for your Disclosures, go to Programs in the menu, and then to the Disclosures tab on the far right of the screen.

You will see two Disclosures:

  • Prizes
  • Official Rules

Click on the pencil icon for one of them, and you will be taken to the LMI Builder which houses the template. You can drag and drop elements from the right sidebar into the page, or simply edit the on-page text to reflect the specifics about your initiative. Make sure to replace any red text with specifics about your organization, prizing rules, prizes, limitations, and so on. Hit Save to commit to your changes and OK, and click Back to go back to the Disclosures tab. You will see a blue “Done” notification under the Disclosure that indicates you have edited it.

Once you have edited both Disclosures or your purposes and saved them, check the box to the right that says “Check box when done.” This will remove one of the last barriers to being able to launch your Program and Challenges to your Players.

How to Add Links to Program Legal Disclosures to Your Install Site

Since an Install Site is Player-facing, you will need to ensure that the 2 legal Disclosures are available from the Install Site to be compliant with the law and provide the fine print of gameplay to your Players.

There are 2 ways to add the Disclosures links to an Install Site.

Method #1

1. Copy the URL of each Disclosure while you are editing it.

Navigate to Install Sites in the menu, choose the Install Site for your Program, and click on the pencil icon to edit it. Find the appropriate area of the Install Site for the Prizes and Rules Disclosures, click on the Edit Link tooltip, and paste the URL for the Disclosure, setting the Target. Hit OK to confirm the update, and Save to commit the change.

Repeat this for the other Disclosure.

Method #2

2. From the Disclosures tab in the Programs area of the Menu, by clicking on the caret to the right of the pencil icon. Choose “Copy to Clipboard” to copy the URL.

Then, navigate to Install Sites in the menu, choose the Install Site for your Program, and click on the pencil icon to edit it. Find the appropriate area of the Install Site for the Prizes and Rules Disclosures, click on the Edit Link tooltip, and paste the URL for each Disclosure setting the Target. Hit OK to confirm the update, and Save to commit the change.

How to Finalize Disclosures to Enable Program Launch

After inserting both the link to the Rules Disclosure and the Prizes Disclosure, click the box to the right that confirms you have completed these steps. Not doing so will keep your Challenge from Launching and you will receive an error message.
